I am thrilled to announce that I am partnering with Compassionate Support for Stressful Times to offering therapeutic cupping in Kemptville, Ontario (2505 County Road 43)!

If there is free flow, there is no pain; if there is no free flow, there is pain.

What is cupping therapy?

Cupping is an ancient healing practice that has been used for thousands of years by many different cultures across the world.

Cupping helps to create free flow where our bodies are stuck or stagnant. This can help to ease chronic pain and potentially eliminate pain altogether.

How does cupping work?

Cupping works by creating negative pressure or a vacuum. Through the act of lifting different body tissues, space is created allowing a flushing of fresh blood and nutrients to tissue that might not have been getting what it needed previously. This flushing of nutrients helps the tissue heal.

How many different types of therapeutic cupping are there?

There are many different options for cupping therapy. Some that may leave marks and some that won’t ever leave marks (click here to learn more about cupping marks).

  • facial cupping (there will never be marks left)

  • full body lymphatic drainage using cupping therapy (there will never be marks left)

  • deep tissue release

  • gentle cupping

  • and more.

How do I know which type is right for me?

Not to worry! You’re in good hands; unless you’re specifically booking a facial cupping treatment or full body lymphatic cupping treatment, Andrea will use a combination of techniques appropriate to address your health concerns.

How will cupping therapy help me with stress and trauma?

Stress and trauma can disrupt health on every level.  Where cupping can help is with the physical manifestations of this disruption.  This can include but certainly isn’t limited to:

  • Muscle tension or pain

  • Headaches

  • Gut disruption (constipation and/or diarrhea; acid reflux)

  • Weakened immune system (frequent colds/flus; sinus congestion)

  • Plus much more!

It is possible that you might also experience an emotional release during or after a cupping session.  This is normal.  Emotions can be buried deep in the tissues and when the tissues are released, so are the emotions.
